Pentrobin is a constituent church in the Rectorial Benefice of Hawarden - it is not a separate parish. St. John's was consecrated on the 22nd of July 1843. The church was in Flintshire until 1974; and in Clwyd from 1974 until 1996. It is now in "new" Flintshire.
