The Cynwyd War Memorial commemorates those men and women of the
area who died during World War I.
The memorial stands outside
St. John the Evangelist Parish Church
(which replaced All Saints' Church in Llangar as parish church in
1856), near the front gate. It takes the form of a granite cross, standing
on an octagonal base.
Cynwyd is a small village and community in the Edeirnion area of Denbighshire, on the banks of the River Dee, to the south-west of the town of Corwen. Until 1974 the area was part of historic Merionethshire and between 1974 and 1996 part of the county of Clwyd.
