The Overton War Memorial commemorates those local men who died in World War I and World War II. war memorial, which is constructed of red Runcorn stone, stands in the High Street. It was dedicated on 17 November 1921. A brass plaque commemorating those who fell during the Second World War was added later.

The town of Overton, is in the rural Maelor district of the County Borough of Wrexham. Until 1974 the area was part of historic Flintshire and between 1974 and 1996, part of the county of Clwyd.
