The St. Asaph War Memorial commemorates those from the area who died in wartime.
The small city of St. Asaph (Welsh: Llanelwy), with a population of 3400, is situated between the rivers Elwy and Clwyd at the northern end of the Vale of Clwyd in Denbighshire.
The ancient parish of St. Asaph was made up of thirteen township most of which were in historic Flintshire, but two, Meriadog and Wigfair were in historic Denbighshire. Between 1974 and 1996, the area was part of the county of Clwyd
The city's cathedral is the seat of the Diocese of St Asaph which covers the north-east of Wales. The cathedral contains the Welsh Nurses War Memorial, commemorating those who died in World War I.
