Gobowen War Memorial

Gobowen

The Gobowen War Memorial commemorates those men from the area who were killed in World War I and World War II. The memorial takes the form of a limestone cenotaph with two white marble tablets engraved with the names of those who died. It was built on the Cross in the village and unveiled in 1922.

The village of Gobowen, in the Parish of Selattyn & Gobowen, lies in the county of Shropshire in England, close to the border with Wales.

The parish was part of the Welsh Diocese of St Asaph until 1922 when it was transferred to the English Diocese of Litchfield.
