Tallarn Green

Talwrn

The Tallarn Green War Memorial commemorates those local men who were killed in World War I.

Tallarn (or Talwrn) Green is a rural village in the community of Willington-Worthenbury, in the County Borough of Wrexham, and sits on the border with England. Until 1974 the area was part of historic Flintshire, and between 1974 and 1996 part of the county of Clwyd.

The memorial is a sandstone Celtic-style Latin wheel cross with decorative detailing on the shaft and arms of the cross. The cross is mounted on a plinth above a three-stepped octagonal base. The inscriptions are detailed on plaques attached to the plinth.

The memorial is sited between St. Mary Magdalene Parish Church and the Methodist Chapel and is enclosed by railings.
