Froncysyllte

The Froncysyllte War Memorials commemorate those local men and women who were killed in war.

The Boer War monument, a drinking fountain, stands beside the main Holyhead Road, near St. David's Church. It was erected, by public subscription, in 1909 to commemorate two soldiers who died in the Boer War, and unveiled on 29 October 1910. The memorial was moved to its present location in 1996, and at that time, two stone war memorial tablets for the First and Second World Wars were incorporated into it.  These tablets were from the local Methodist Chapel, which had been demolished.

The main memorial stands in the grounds of St. David's Church and commemorates those who died in World War I and World War II.

Froncysyllte is a village overlooking the River Dee in the community of Llangollen Rural, in the County Borough of Wrexham. Until 1974 the area was part of historic Denbighshire, and between 1974 and 1996 part of the county of Clwyd. In 1996, Llangollen Rural became part of the newly-formed county of Denbighshire. However, in 1998, following a local referendum, the community was transferred into the neighbouring County Borough of Wrexham
