Flint Council School in the 1920s
Contributed by Mon Williams
The above photograph of Group V was taken in the 1920s at Flint Council School.
"The school teacher on the right is my late mother, Mrs Caroline Williams, formerly Caroline Newall of Pendref, Coleshill Street, Flint. Looking at the pictures taken during the depression, one realises what real child poverty was. I recall my late mother telling me that at the height of the depression, the less fortunate children were given boots to wear by some charity, but she had to indelibly mark them inside the boot, otherwise they might end up in the pawn shop!"
The above photograph is of the boys of Group VII.
And finally the staff photograph.
