Rhydymwyn Village

The Antelope Hotel, on the left, stands on the Mold to Denbigh road. Rhydymwyn railway station, on the LNWR's Mold to Denbigh line, can be seen in the centre of the picture. Originally connecting to Corwen, Ruthin, Denbigh, Mold and Chester but by the early 1960s service ran only between Chester General and Ruthin. The station closed in 1962. Rhydymwyn Village

Another view of the village looking across the Alyn valley, with the summit of Moel Fammau in the distance. The Valley Works stood in the area behind the hotel. The field in front of the Antelope Hotel is flooded, a frequent occurrence! (Contributed by The Rhydymwyn Valley History Society)
